Garden Tour, see New Zealand in full bloom on a spectacular 12 Day South Island tour. This tour departs 29 October, 2008 and offers travellers the opportunity to discover the brilliance of New Zealand in spring time and is fully escorted by a horticultural expert.
Incorporated in the itinerary are visits to a number of specialty gardens including a tour of the famous Christchurch Botanic Gardens. The varied selection of private and public gardens showcases the best of New Zealand flora; from the country gardens of Killinchy Woods to the peaceful residential gardens of Queenstown.
A highlight of the tour is a full day at the Dunedin Rhododendron Festival, where the festivities centre around the Botanic Gardens’ Rhododendron Dell. One of the world’s most significant plantings of over 3500 rhododendrons, the Dell, covers 15 acres of land and comprises of 178 species and over 200 named hybrids.
