AAT Kings’ 3 day Kakadu & Hawk Dreaming enjoy exclusive overnight access to Aboriginal Land of Hawk Dreaming & a small group safari, plus moreDay 1: Hawk Dreaming Depart Darwin at 7.00am and travel to Kakadu National Park. Visit the Bowali Visitor Centre, where the displays will introduce you to the many different ecosystems of the region. We visit Ubirr Rock, where your guide will interpret some of the meanings behind the ancient Aboriginal rock art. Travel to our exclusive camp at Hawk Dreaming. After lunch explore the land of the Bunitj people. Intimate rock art sites can be explored without fences or crowds, with time to soak up the spiritual atmosphere of the area. Sit and learn in outdoor “classrooms”, just like the Aboriginal People have done for thousands of years. After enjoying the sunset from a nearby vantage point, return to our exclusive camp. Accommodation: Exclusive Hawk Dreaming Safari Camp, 2 nights. LD Day 2: Jim Jim Gorge Travel by 4WD track to Jim Jim Gorge at the edge of the imposing Arnhem Land Escarpment. Walk through the shady monsoon forest and climb over boulders through the impressive gorge to reach the plunge pool for a refreshing swim and time to take in the majestic beauty of the gorge. Access to Jim Jim Gorge is by a 900 metre walk over rocks. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush. Return to Hawk Dreaming and overnight at our exclusive safari camp. BLD Day 3: Yellow Water Wetlands In the early morning light bid goodbye to Hawk Dreaming and head south to Cooinda, home of the Yellow Water Wetlands cruise. Here you have the opportunity to spot for crocodiles, birds and other wildlife. We then travel to Barramundi Gorge (Maguk) where a short walk through a paperbark forest will bring you to the base of this picturesque waterfall. Return to Darwin through the South Alligator River along the Old Jim Jim Road, an historic 4WD track, arriving at approximately 6.00pm.
