Milford Track Guided Walk, the most famous guided walk of them all. For more than a century the appeal of the Milford Track has grown with walkers from all around the world. 55 kilometres through the “World Heritage” Fiordland National Park from the head of Lake Te Anau, along the Clinton Valley, across the Mackinnon Pass, descending the Arthur River Valley to infamous Sandfly Point to reach Milford Sound for a celebratory dinner and launch cruise. Start/finish in either Queenstown or Te Anau.

Accommodation: All lodges on the Milford Track have flush toilets, hot showers with soap, shampoo and conditioner provided. Room options are either in private ensuite rooms with queen size beds  or multi-share bunkroom sleeping 4-6 people per room and all beds have pillows and blankets.

Meals are three course dinners each evening, full cooked breakfasts and picnic lunches. New Zealand wines, beers and spirits are provided for purchase at each of the lodges. A celebratory drink/dinner is included on the last night at the Mitre Peak Lodge in Milford Sound.

FITNESS The walk is neither easy nor difficult. It is a challenge, which people of all ages and abilities will relish. To enjoy your walk you need to be able to carry a medium sized backpack containing your personal belongings weighing 5-7kg (10-14lbs) for 6-8 hours over 15-21kms (9-13 miles) of mountain tracks each day. They encourage you to walk at your own pace, there is no pressure to walk with others or keep up with the fastest walkers. There is always a guide at the front and rear of the party.

The Milford Wilderness Recreational Cycling Tours are designed to suit anyone from the avid cyclist to those with little experience. Set your own pace, riding as far as you want and relax in the comfort of the support coach at other times. You’ll be travelling with people of all ages from the world over, with much of the time on quiet back roads. Each group is restricted to 14, with two guides and 27 speed hybrid bikes.

The Abel Tasman National Park is renowned for it’s kayaking, which is easy and requires very little strength or skill. Double kayaks are used for stability and the advantage of having two people share the paddling effort. Guides provide full training and travel with you to explore the Park’s protected coastline, the myriad of bays and lagoons. Kayaking is optional on these trips you are welcome to join the walkers or travel in one of the launches.
